Healthy Schools

At Friars we want our children to grow into healthy young adults. With this in mind, we focus on getting the children physically active as often as possible and attempt to find a sport to suit everyone. We invite a variety of agencies into the school to promote healthy living.

What are some of the things we do as a healthy school?

(Due to the pandemic, things are currently running a little differently.)


  • We hold regular healthy eating focus weeks.

  • We only have healthy choices in our breakfast club.

  • We run a snack bar where we sell healthy items.

  • Our school lunch offer includes a range of healthy options.

  • There are awards for healthy packed lunches and healthy eating.

  • We run parent workshops on healthy eating - often with a professional chef.


We have been encouraging the children to bring healthy lunches. Here are some examples of healthy packed lunches that our children have brought to school:
