KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE IN EDUCATION

All staff at Friars have annual safeguard training to Level 2 and throughout the year there are updates, such as procedures for ‘children missing in education’ and the ‘early help’ process. Annually, there is training on Prevent, Child Sexual Exploitation and Female Genital Mutilation. We ensure that all staff and visitors know our Designated Safeguard Lead and the deputies.

Mr. S. Roche - DSL

Mr. C. McClay – Deputy

Mrs. J. Sharkey – Deputy

Mrs. R. Oakes – Safeguarding across Portico

Mr . A. Murkin – Safeguard Governor

It is the duty of ALL staff to ensure the safety and well-being of our children. All children name an adult in school they feel they can talk to and we continuously reinforce safeguarding through assemblies, visitors (NSPCC), PSHE, online-safety and workshops for parents.

Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. We strive to safeguard and promote the welfare of all of our children, and it is a responsibility we take very seriously. Our school works in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance - ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. For further information please click the link below.
