Congratulations to everybody who received a certificate last week. As usual there were many different reasons for teachers to award the certificates, but in every case it was clear how proud they are of you all. Well done to 5G for winning the Attendance Cup with 99.3% and to Stirling for winning the House Cup. They have taken an early lead in this term's competition.
This week we had a visitor speaking in assembly. She told us all about healthy eating and the sugar content of some of our favourite drinks. She asked the children to guess how many cubes of sugar they thought were in different drinks. When she told us the answer, we were shocked at quite how much there was. Hopefully the children will remember this next time they choose which drink to have.
It is only the first week back but we had a lot to celebrate in assembly today. There were certificates and leaves handed out for a wide range of reasons including many for maths this week. Achievement certificates Children in each class were awarded certificates for excellent effort in class or improvement in their work. We also had twenty five key word certificates awarded, which shows that the children have been learning their words over the holidays- thank you for your support at home. On a sunny Wednesday afternoon we took 10 KS2 children to Garons Golf Complex to take part in some golf practice and a Tri-Golf competition. The ten children had been part of our tri-golf club over last term but some had never played the real thing. When we arrived the golf pro at Garons taught the children how to putt and then took them to the driving range to hit some balls using a real golf club. Everyone showed great improvement and even performed a trick shot by the end
