Harvest Assembly

On Thursday 12th October, Friars held their Harvest assembly. Parents and careers were extremely generous and the food display looked superb! The assembly began with the song 'Cauliflowers Fluffy'. This was followed by a talk from the Rev. David Mayne, the minister at Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church, who are a centre for foodbank distributions. He explained to the children what will happen to the food that they so generously donated. The assembly finished with the traditional harvest hymn, ' We plough the fields and scatter'. Thank you to all parents and careers who donated so much food. It will go to families in the local area.

Our buddy leaf winners were nominated by their classmates for being great friends, playing with them when they had nobody to play with, helping them do something new and for being so helpful around the classroom. We also gave out certificates to the children that completed the Essex libraries summer reading challenge during the summer holidays. Well done to all our winners this week! The Team cup was won this week by Windsor (red) team. 1JB won the attendance cup.
