Tri Golf Competition
Team Friars went to Garons Golf Complex to take part in the Tri Golf competition. The event challenges the children to show ability in short and long range shots, chipping and putting with each activity having a points scoring system. Team Friars had three teams attend this event in which Friars finished 1st, 2nd and 4th in the score rankings and allow us to attend the Essex Finals again this year as Southend champions. Well done.

Hi 5 Netball competition
Team Friars performed outstanding at the Hi 5 Netball competition this week winning 7 out of 9 games to take 3rd place in the Southend Schools competition at Garon Park.

Cyber Safety Session
On Wednesday afternoon, 25th April, Year 6 were visited by Stuart from Southend Fire Service where they participated in a 'Cyber Safety Session.' KS2 Celebration Assembly
Well done to all our certificate winners last week. 3GS managed to achieve 100% attendance and Windsor were the first to win the House Cup this term.

Karate Competition

South East Essex Design Competition
We were absolutely thrilled to have taken part in and attended the SEEDC (South East Essex Design Competition) awards ceremony at The Deanes Academy on the The SEEDC sees many local primary and secondary schools create showcases of their amazing art and design projects from their school. Year 4 Book Week
Before the Spring break, Year 4 pupils were very lucky to be visited by an author during our rescheduled book week. This author was particularly special because he was in fact a parent of children that attend Friars! Year 4 listened in awe as Mr Nicholls explained how he came to write his story and which books inspired him (including The Lion, he Witch and the Wardrobe which we had been studying in class!) and he also shared some of the illustrations his children created for
