Year 6 theatre show

On the Friday before half-term, Year 6 had a workshop visit them on the subject of gang culture, its pitfalls, how to recognise gang culture and how to deal with it. The children were taught that at the beginning of a child being introduced to a gang, they can be offered love, identity, excitement and security within the gang; new members start receiving new items such as phones, trainers, branded clothing. However, in return for all of this, problems quickly raise their ugly heads – school marks can drop as can attendance, children start coming home late, parents don’t know where their children are. The children are then expected to do the gang ‘favours’ and if they don’t the gang could ta

Super Splash Heroes assembly

Pupils from Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 were lucky to be visited by the Super Splash Heroes from Essex and Suffolk Water. The came in to give us an enjoyable and informative show on how we can save water and the important reasons for doing so. I am sure that they will be coming home with some helpful suggestions about water conservation!

Year 6 Bikeability

In recent weeks, our Year 6 children have taken part in Bikeability. The children were able to learn about riding their bikes on the road and the safety precautions to take when doing so. They were led by instructors who taught them key skills for riding a bike. Others continued their learning in the playground and had a thoroughly fun time improving their skills.

Mr Greenstein talk with Year 6

On Wednesday 17th October 2018, Mr. Greenstein, who is a member of the Jewish synagogue in Westcliff, came to talk to the Year 6 classes. He explained the basics of the Jewish religion and some of the differences between the Jewish and Christian religion. The children then had the opportunity to ask Mr. Greenstein questions about the Jewish religion and what they have been discussing in R.E. Questions such as is there a God? Did God create the world? Is there a heaven or a hell? Mr. Greenstein, as ever, was extremely interesting to listen to and was very generous in answering the children's questions.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service

Stuart from Essex Fire and Rescue Service came to school on Friday in order to tell us some important safety advice in the build up to Firework Night and Halloween. Year one autumn walk

Mrs Bennett, Mr Burnham, Miss Morris and Miss Linden would like to say a massive thank you to the mums and dads who helped year one at the park this morning. The children came back into the classroom so excited about the autumn treasure they had found. We couldn’t have done it with your help! Some drew what they had found and tried to write the words. Some made maps of our route. Everyone spent time investigating their treasure, really looking closely at their feather, leaves, conkers and flowers. We hope you will join us again when we go back to see how the park changes in Winter and then again in Spring and Summer.
