Today, Monday 21st October, Stuart Huxter from Essex Fire Service took the assembly this morning. He explained to the children about some ‘rules’ that could be followed in order to keep themselves safe during Halloween and on bonfire night. Rules for Halloween included: Never go out without a supervising adult. Only go to houses that have Halloween decorations up at them. Don’t knock on houses that have a poster in the window asking you not too. Stay in well lit areas. Make sure you can be seen as Halloween costumes are often quite dark. KS2 Celebration Assembly

Congratulations to all of the children earning achievement leaves for reasons such as showing great attitude, improved concentration, independence, perseverance and resilience. Mr Webster awarded certificates to our huge cross country team for taking part in last week’s cross country event. Well done to all of our runners, you did the school and yourselves proud! It is also lovely to hear about the achievements of our children outside of school. Certificates were awarded by Southend Library services to those children taking part in the ‘Space Chase’ summer reading challenge. KS1 Celebration Assembly

Today we celebrated lots of great things that happened this week both in and out of school! Well done to all of our leaf winners who were awarded achievement leaves for being a good friend, helping others, working independently and for working hard to get a good result The KS1 team cup was won by Windsor 2B regained the attendance cup again this week with an almost perfect 99.3%

KS1 Celebration Assembly

Key stage 1 Well done to the children that received achievement leaves or buddy leaves this week. The nominations included such great reasons as independent working, not giving up, showing a great attitude to work or for being an extra special friend to somebody. We gave out lots of key word certificates and our first rainbow reader stickers of the year! Congratulations to all of the children receiving an award and don’t forget to keep practising these skills at home. Harvest Festival

Tuesday 1st October was our Harvest Festival Celebration. We do thank you for the donations that you sent in. This year, our donations were given to ‘Off the Streets.’ They came and took the harvest assembly and explained to the children where their food and toiletry donations would be going. There were extremely grateful for all the donations that had been sent in. ‘Off the Streets’ is a grassroots night shelter which is open all year round in Southend. In November 2017 it was revealed Southend had the 8th highest number of rough sleepers in the whole country.
