Portico Art and Design Festival
For the last three weeks of the summer term, our Portico Art and Design Festival travelled between our Portico schools, Friars Primary School, Hamstel Infant School, Hamstel Junior School, Porters Grange Primary School and West Leigh Junior School. Each school carefully displayed its work on stands, which were then transported by minibus between the different locations. Celebration Assembly – 15th July 2022

Celebration Assembly – 8th July 2022
With our Year 6 children at their residential weeks and one Year 4 class doing Bike ability, it seemed the perfect opportunity to get the remaining classes across the school together for a combined celebration assembly. Southend Week
What a busy day we had today! After a short mini bus ride, we arrived at Southend Pier, ready to walk the mile and a quarter to the end. Some of the children felt a little nervous about doing this, but they all felt a sense of achievement at reaching the end having stopped to wave at the train and spot crabs and cod fish on the way. Ilam - Wednesday
Another good night at the hostel, another fab breakfast and another day packed full of activities. A change from walking today as we were on the Tissington Trail cycling on mountain bikes. The Tissington Trail is a disused railway line that has been turned into a cycle path. It was fantastic! We cycled for over an hour in one direction before turning and cycling back.
