Reception visit care home

This year the children in our Reception classes have had the fabulous opportunity of visiting the Legra Residential Home in Leigh on Sea. Each fortnight, a small group has visited on Tuesday mornings to share craft activities, singing songs together, playing musical instruments and even doing some very gentle keep fit and games. The children have great fun and really enjoy the trips, benefitting greatly from the opportunity to learn important social skills whilst having fun.

The residents are no longer able to live independently in their own homes and really look forward to the children visiting them. The home has reported how much it means to them already saying....

“The residents love it and when the children leave, the residents say how lovely they all are and ask when they are coming back again. It has had an amazing effect on a few of the residents. The amount of children is perfect. I really can't thank you and all the teachers involved enough, it's such an amazing thing and very important to the residents. Thank you again.”

Due to its success throughout the spring term we have continued the project into the summer term and we look forward to it restarting in September.
