Year 3 Home Safety Visit

Essex fire and rescue service in collaboration with Essex police visited Year 3 on Monday 1st July to give a presentation on home safety and crime prevention. The children all listened carefully to the presentation and answered questions relating to home safety showing an excellent awareness of the main topics. They learnt what to do in the event of a fire in the home, focusing on the three outs: get out, stay out and call the fire brigade out. In addition, they learnt to recognise other potential fire hazards in the home, including electrical hazards such as the safest surfaces for charging a mobile phone. Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed the visit and produced some safety posters of their own after the talk.
