Southend Week

What a fantastic week! The Year 6 children had a fun packed week with a huge variety of activities that kept them totally engaged.

At the start of the week we cooked both savoury and cookie dough pizzas, which were yummy and enjoyed by both the children and many of the staff throughout the school.

We also made our own stop go animation films and teleported ourselves to different worlds using green screen technology! The children came face to face with unicorns, cute animals and fast cars! We learnt new skills whilst having a great time.

On Wednesday, we went to Kids Kingdom, where we all used lots of energy and got thoroughly hot and sweaty! There were a few minor injuries as children took a tumble from Jelly Mountain, and Mrs Lees may have accidentally elbowed one of the children. Well done to Jack and Stef, who overcame their fear to go down the drop slide.

Thursday, there was more fun as we went off to play crazy golf at the seafront. There were a few holes in one, but in the end Robert and Adam won overall. On returning to school, Mrs Bailey organised lots of lovely games – Mr Telling was amazing at eating doughnuts without using his hands and Mrs Snow was very skilled when it came to moving Maltesers by sucking on a straw!!!

Friday, we had a great time bowling and for some of the children with was their first time. There were some great techniques and Lili-May nearly beat Mr Telling! Matthew had a great dance when he got a strike and we all got better throughout the games.

Afterwards, everyone had a great time getting thoroughly soaked in the water fountains – brilliant! When everyone was dried it was time for ice-creams (for the teachers too). We then took a walk along the seafront and stopped to play ball, skim stones and, yes, to get wet again!

It was a great week, enjoyed by all with members of the public commenting how well behaved the children were. Well done everyone!
