Year 6 link with Atlanta International School of Atlanta

Recently a link has been set up between Friars Primary School and Atlanta International School in Atlanta, Georgia. We produced a short film, so that a small group of children could introduce themselves and outline their project based on Bonfire Night and Christmas in England. We were very excited to receive a video back from the American children, who explained that they would be sending us some work about the history and traditions of Thanksgiving. Our Year 6 children then volunteered some of their time to produce written work about the history and traditions of Bonfire Night and Christmas. This has also given both sets of children an opportunity to ask questions on topics that interest them, such as school subjects and football for example. We hope to continue this link that gives us an insight into another country’s culture.
