Year 6 Metrobank
This half term, year 6 have been visited by staff from Southend’s branch of Metrobank. Through the use of an activity book, the children have learnt amount money, savings and budgeting. Over the course of 3 workshops, the children have learnt about the benefits of saving money with a bank and the meaning of interest. In addition, year 6 looked at the difference between spending on ‘wants’ such holidays and ‘needs’ such as rent when they are older. They are aware that sometimes we need to make cut backs in our day to day spending in order to save for items we really want. Additionally, they learnt that it is a good idea to plan for their savings, setting themselves a target and identifying how they can meet that goal. We would like to say a very big thank you to the staff at Metrobank.
