This week, several children attended the borough sports and represented the school superbly. It was noted how well behaved our children were.

There were so many great performances from the children and a huge well done to those children that stepped in at short notice. This was one of our best performances, as a team, for some time. We came away with 12 medals for individuals and 2 relay team medals. In all we placed 6th on the day.

In the track events, Amelia (Year 4) and Chris (Year 5) claimed bronze and gold in sprints, respectively, with Ralph (Year 3) and Faith (Year 6) picking up silver and bronze in the long-distance running.

In the field events, Haralds (Year 3) and Isaac (Year 4) both claimed silver in long jump with Lathan (Year 5) claiming bronze, jumping into the pit. Also in year 5, Cooper threw a superb 41m with a rounders ball to claim a gold medal with Mya (Year 4) and Eddie (Year 3) picking up silver and bronze in javelin. Our field events concluded with further medal positions in the shot-put with Finlay (Year 5) collecting bronze and Alvie (Year 6) collecting gold.

Our medal positions did not end there as the events turned to the relay races. With some very strong competition, it was great to see the Year 4 Boys Relay team (Isaac, Harley, Charlie and Oliver) finishing second and our Year 5 Boys Relay team (Cooper, Chris, Alex and Lathan) finishing third - two more medals to add to the collection.

A massive well done to everyone that took part or came to training sessions – it seems to have made a difference!
