Celebration Assembly 11th September 2026

KS1 and KS2

This week there were no certificates given, as we launched our new Celebration Certificates! Moving forward, we will be celebrating one of our Friars Values each week, and teachers will be celebrating those children who have clearly demonstrated the ‘value of the week’. As well as receiving a certificate in the assembly, children will receive a values sticker to go on their collection certificate – hopefully collecting all six values stickers by the end of the year. 

Next week’s value is ‘Friars Family’. The children who receive the Friars Family certificate might show care for others, worked well as part of a team or gone above and beyond in supporting a friend… Good luck everyone!

Attendance

Attendance has been excellent and this week we celebrated many classes for achieving better than 96%. Well done to… Wrens, 2M, 2W, 3R, 3S, 4A, 4S, 5B and 6B!!! All of these classes received stickers for ‘Spin the Wheel’. Winners this week were 2W for Key Stage 1 and both 4S and 5B for Key Stage 2.

Sadly, three classes were so close to achieving 100% but each had at least one person off today. Better luck next week…

Team Points

We have the first team points on the board and our early leader is Stirling! A very good total of 41 points saw them take the top spot. It was a double-win as Stirling won in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Very soon we will be appointing our new ‘team captains’. Each team will have two team captains from Year 6. The potential candidates will need to make a speech explaining why they would make a good captain, before their team votes… Good luck to everyone who is putting themselves forward.

Mr. Brady to the Rescue!

On Wednesday, we had a distressed young squirrel on our playground. The children noticed the squirrel and were quick to raise the alarm. We were unsure if the squirrel was hurt so the children called Mr. Brady over from the Environmental Garden. Mr. Brady carefully collected the squirrel and then released it next to the outdoor classroom. We’re pleased to say, it was perfectly healthy and headed off happily to its squirrel family.

School Council

We have appointed a new School Council… as voted for by the children in each of the classes. Congratulations to each councillor and vice-councillor. We wish you a successful term of office.
