Celebration Assembly – 16th December 2022

Another fabulous week where we celebrated not only weekly success, but also those children who had impressed their teachers across the whole half-term to win one of our special awards.


KS1 awards

This week our KS1 certificates were awarded for a great range of reasons, these included;

Year 1 – working hard to make an igloo, evaluating their designs, being helpful to others and creating a brilliant igloo design.

Year 2 – amazing effort in maths, super acting in our Christmas performance, learning number bonds to 10 and the 10x table and for enjoying the Christmas performance despite being a little nervous.



Buddy awards

Thank you to Cooper, Arlie, Edward and Casey, our Buddy winners recognised by their class mates for demonstrating helpfulness and an ability to make people smile – what a great quality to have!


Rainbow Readers

Our Rainbow Readers this week were Adhaat (yellow), Harrison (green) and Albie (yellow) all from Class 1BU.

Assembly Shout Outs

This week a special assembly shout out went to both Year 1 and Year 2 for their amazing performances to the school and parents/carers this week. Well done KS1

Special half-termly awards

Huge congratulations go to the KS1 children earning our special certificates for this half term. These children demonstrated brilliant learning skills as shown below;

  • Haralds (1BU) enthusiastic and impressive maths

  • Gracie (1BR) – super helpful, kind and always being ready to learn

  • Oliver L (2S) for super improved confidence

  • Teddy (2B) for trying hard all of the time.

Well done to our KS1 winners.



KS2 Awards

Our certificate winners in KS2 were recognised by their teachers for;

Year 3 - Perseverance in maths, taking themselves out of their comfort zone, super effort in handwriting and super effort in art.

Year 4 – Improved, consistently good behaviour, resilience in their learning, super Roman numerals maths work and 100% effort across the whole curriculum.




Year 5 – Super collaborative work, helping others to learn, great performance poetry, trying new foods at lunchtime and for being very well-mannered.

Year 6 – for giving 100% effort in every lesson, great commitment to learning and concentration, improved confidence to share ideas, consistently high effort and determination to complete their DT project.

Our two mathemagicians this week, were Jaimee-Rae from Year 5 and Billy B from Year 6 who respectively demonstrated 100% effort in being a reliable, model pupil, and perseverance when completing coordinates work.



Pen Licences

It takes a lot of hard work to get a pen licence, so huge congratulations to Maisie and Shaniya both of Class 4S for earning theirs in the last week of term. Well done!

Handwriting shout outs also went to Tyrese, Lyric and Abigail in 4S for being re-awarded their pens this week.



Computing Awards

This week our class of the week for computing was Class 3JD whose focus and attitude in their lesson this week, blew Mrs Pinckney away. Great work 3JD.

Skyla collected the award on behalf of her class.



Sports Super Stars

With no sports competitions this week, it was a great chance for us to share a Sports Superstar from outside of school.

A big well done and congratulations to Tate in 5BW for earning not just one, but two medals at his basketball club last weekend.

A future Michael Jordan in the making?

Design Top 10

Today, we also recognised our top ten designers for the ‘Herd in the City’ elephant design competition.

Well done to all of our short listed entrants but especially Jae from Year 6, who was voted as our overall winner.


Special assembly shout outs

Assembly shout outs went to Jeffrey, Ellie, Jae, Kingsley, Riley and AJ (Year 6) for all of their help with team points and putting/tidying chairs for our performances this week. You have been a brilliant help!

Special half-termly awards

Huge congratulations go to the KS2 children earning our special certificates for this half term. This is what the teachers had to say about them...

  • Thea (3MV) - a shining superstar in all of her learning

  • Daisy (3JD) – always giving her best effort – a great all round hard worker

  • Layla G (2S) – always enthusiastic, always giving maximum effort

  • Abigail (4S) – a great role model to her peers

  • Skye (5BW) – an excellent role model who always tries her best

  • Layla C (5A) – confidence is blossoming and always works extremely hard

  • Ruby (6B) – growing in confidence to share her ideas

  • Evie (6G) – always dedicated and conscientious in her learning – always challenging herself

Attendance

This week our whole school attendance stood at 92%

The winners of the Attendance Cups were 1BU in KS1 with 93% and 6B in KS2 with 97.5%.


Team Points

With a strong performance in KS1, Windsor stormed to the Team Cup this week. While over in KS2, Stirling took the Team Cup to ensure that they go into the Christmas break leading the race for The Friars Cup.
