KS1/KS2
Even though we had a shorter week, there was still so much to celebrate! Almost all of the certificates were awarded for settling back into school and making such a positive start. Teachers found it so hard to choose…
Attendance
Only three days of attendance to celebrate but we had three classes achieve 100% for those days. Well done to 2S, 3SM and 6S. With 99.4% and 97.8% respectively, 4L and 6B also received Spin the Wheel stickers.
A reminder that when a class achieves 97% or better, they receive a sticker. Three stickers results in a spin of the wheel for a prize for the class.
New Spin the Wheel prizes will be selected by the School Council once councillors have been elected.
Attendance at school is so vitally important, so please do ensure that your child is with us as much as possible. If you have any attendance-related problems, please speak with us. We have a new member of staff, Miss Stevens who will be taking a lead on attendance and she will be happy to help.
Team Points
Although team points were awarded this week, it was too early to give totals in our morning Celebration Assemblies… therefore we will have a rollover to next Friday.
After last year’s win for Stirling, all of our house teams are excited for the year ahead. Over the past three years, Stirling have won twice and Windsor once. In Tuesday’s assembly we spoke about if there might be a new name on the Friars Cup come July…
This year we will be appointing House Captains and there will be some Team Days, where children in our houses will come together to work collaboratively. We can’t wait…
Good luck to Caernarfon, Sterling, Stormont and Windsor for the year ahead!
Uniform
Thank you for sending the children back to school looking very smart. We felt so proud seeing the whole school together in our assemblies this week. If you missed the email midweek about uniform reminders, please look back…
If your child wears earrings, please not that they must be studs and must be removed for PE and sport. Sleeper earrings are now allowed.
Reception 2026
In October and November, we will be hosting tours of the school for prospective parents who are thinking about sending their children to Friars in September 2026. If you have a child of that age, or have friends and family who do, we would be grateful if you could share the dates with them.
Tour 1: Tuesday October 21 at 9:30am
Tour 2: Tuesday October 21 at 1:30pm
Tour 3: Thursday November 13 at 9:30am
Tour 4: Thursday November 13 at 1:30pm
Tours will last approximately 45 minutes. Both parents and children are welcome to attend.
Clubs
We are currently in the process of organising our extra-curricular club offer for the autumn term. More information about clubs will follow next week.
