Cross-Country Competition
On Friday of last week, our team of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 cross-country runners had an amazing time at Garon Park for the annual competition. After attending trials at the beginning of the term, the team members had attended a number of before-school practices in preparation. This commitment really paid off on the day, as was visible in the individual performances the children put in. There was such enthusiasm and determination - and lots of smiles even during the races! It was lovely to see teammates encouraging each other. As usual our children did the school proud. I even had an adult from another school come to me to compliment one of our boys who had consoled a boy from a different school who was upset. Well done Harry F, who told the boy he had raced well. A special mention to Vienna in Year 1 who finished 4th and Ralph in Year 5 who finished 10th. To make the top ten is an impressive achievement with so many runners. Well done Team Friars!
