Alton Towers!

For many, Alton Towers was what they were really, really looking forward to. It did not disappoint. Although it is impossible to go on every ride in one day such are the length of the queues, we did not stop for a second. We raced around the park to fit in as much as we possibly could. The Wicker Man, The Runaway Mine Train, Spinball Whizzer, Nemesis, The Smiler… we have a lot of brave children! No matter what rides the children went on, everyone had an awesome day. NB. I was brave too as rides are not my most favourite thing!

Despite being somewhat tired, we mustered up enough energy to enjoy our final night together. You could definitely see tiredness creeping in.

Friday

Our final morning was spent walking along by the river that runs next to Ilam Hall. It was a lovely sunny morning and served as a very fitting end to an excellent week. It was important to stretch our legs before the return coach journey.

The coach was definitely not as noisy as on the outward leg. Many of the children took the opportunity to catch up on sleep Zzzzzzzzzzz…

Thank you Year 6 for a highly memorable residential. Thank you also to the members of staff who made it all possible; Mr. Leggett, Miss Gibbons, Mrs. Shuttleworth, Mrs. Vermeulen and Mrs. Brady! Without you and your commitment it would not happen.

Until 2026 when it will be the current Year 5 children’s turn!
