The Year 5s embarked on their visit to Thriftwood. For some, it was their first experience of camping. The children took park in 8 different activities across the three days including both water based activities and land based activities. The children loved the zip wire and found all sorts of different ways to travel! On the first evening Mrs Brady led us on a walk through the woods so that the children could see the enormity of the campsite before the excitement of getting ready for bed and sleeping under canvas. The children were eager to start the activities in the morning and woke early! Activities throughout the second day were enjoyed by all and there was an energetic campfire in the evening led by Mr Brady. The evening was finished off with s’mores made over the campfire. The second morning saw a later wake up by the children. They then tackled the art of packing away a sleeping bag before finishing the visit with their final activities on the water. The children showed exemplary behaviour whilst they were away and should all be proud of themselves, especially those who took part in activity that they were unsure about.
A big thank you to all the staff who attended – they certainly slept well on the Friday night!
