Year 5/6 Girls Football

The Y5/6 girls headed to Bournes Green on Friday evening to play in friendly football matches. These games were organised as part of Friars’ pledge to grow girls football during the 2021/22 season. This was the toughest game for the girls so far, as Bournes Green wanted the friendly before competing in the Essex Finals.

The A team lost their game to the Essex finalists but performed well throughout.

In the B team game Patrycja and Gabrielle played in their first ever football matches and Gabrielle was unlucky to not score in the match.

The main thing that came from the matches was the question that Mr Telling was asked by numerous girls in the team, after a heavy defeat, “When can we play again?”. Seeing the enjoyment is a bigger achievement than winning games. The Y5/6 girls headed to Bournes Green on Friday evening to play in friendly football matches.
