KS2 Celebration Assembly
It is only the first week back but we had a lot to celebrate in assembly today. There were certificates and leaves handed out for a wide range of reasons including many for maths this week. Well done everybody and keep up the good work.
In addition to our academic achievements, we had some of a sporting nature to celebrate. This week we sent a team to a Try Golf tournament at Garons. Having only been playing for a short while, I am pleased to say that we won gold! This is a superb effort and means that we are invited to the next competition after half term.
We were also very proud to congratulate Tristan in Year 6 for his martial arts achievements. He attended an international competition over the holidays and competed against over 500 people from 18 countries. He finished the competition in 2nd place! It is an amazing achievement and he tells me that the silver medal looked better than the gold one anyway!
Finally, we were able to congratulate Liana-Mae for reaching the next round of the BBC Radio 2 500 Words competition. She is the first person from Friars to reach this stage of the competition and we wish you good luck for the next stage.
