Year 3 Stone Age day

What a tremendous day had in Year 3 in our first week of term! To kick off our stone age day we gathered our lovely children for a year group photo – stunning, but scary! They then took part on some drama and learnt about flint knapping. After a break some archaeologists had left the children some stone age remains where we investigated their diet. After lunch they used their flint knapping knowledge to make some ‘soapy’ weapons. We shared the story ‘Stone age boy’ where they learnt about stone age cave art. We finished the day with some cave art. The children and staff enjoyed the day gaining lots of knowledge for our topic.
