Celebration Assembly 7th July 2023

KS1 awards

This week our KS1 certificates were awarded to our Year 1 and 2 children for;

  • Precise movements in dance

  • Having fun during an art activity

  • Working hard on writing and choosing to do extra work

  • Modelling great behaviour

  • Helping another child

  • Using great details and information during class discussions

  • Improved handwriting and presentation

  • Writing an amazing recount about the Year 2 trip

A special mention goes to Jonathon who has managed to score 100% in his spelling tests all year.


Buddy awards

Buddy awards went to;

  • Jamie for making a story for Albert

  • Harrison for helping a friend with their shoes

  • Yousif for helping a friend pick up some books that had fallen over

Key Words

Huge congratulations go to Sophia in Year 2 who has learnt all of her keywords to earn her gold medal. Well done Sophia, a great achievement!



Sporting Superstars

We also celebrated our KS1 Borough Sports team who performed so well.They all received their official certificates today. What a team!



KS2 Awards

In Years 3 and 4 certificates were awarded for;

  • Year 3 were praised for their behaviour on the Colchester castle trip

  • Being a kind and helpful friend

  • Safe behaviour and progress at swimming

  • Creative writing

  • Super handwriting and earning a pen trial

  • Independence in learning

  • Impressive RE research

  • Brilliant French work

  • Improved confidence and maximum effort

  • Amazing effort when editing in computing


In Years 5 and 6 certificates were awarded to the children for;

  • Attitude to learning and wanting to do well

  • Confidence and progress in maths

  • Brilliant story writing to hook the reader

  • Impressive teamwork

  • 6B for their effort and collaboration to design outdoor games during outdoor learning

  • 6G for amazing stained glass art work during RE


Computing Awards

Class 5A were awarded the computing class of the week for the maturity shown when filming this week. Mason and 5A’s new digital leader, Ava collected the award on their behalf.


Sporting Superstars

This week we celebrated our girl’s football team who came second overall in the league this year. The girls were all awarded with silver medals.



We also celebrated the children who qualified for the Super Sports for doing so well in the recent borough sports. A special mention goes to Chris, Remmy and Cooper in Year 3 for earning bronze medals in this event.



Shout Outs

This week a special assembly shout out went to Chazo in Year 4 for taking on extra writing work at home!

Layla goes Nuclear!

A big well done goes to Layla in Year 5 who completed the very challenging, nuclear mud run to earn herself this great medal. Excellent effort Layla and we are very pleased to see that you managed to have a bath before coming back into school!


Attendance

Class 1BU won the attendance cup again this week in KS1 while in KS2 it was Class 3MV who took the cup. Well done to both classes!

Team Cups

This week Stormont took the KS1 team cup while our KS2 winners were Stirling. Stirling and Stormont look as if they are very comfortable in first and second places respectively but with all of the sports day team points still to be added…..anything can happen!



Well done to all of our winners this week.
